Figure Out Your Demographic and Simplify the Process of Television Production
There’s a lot of planning and strategizing that goes into a TV series. And despite this, you may find that some of them don’t work. There are TV series that are dropped immediately after the pilot, since the viewer response was so low. And there are other series that are dropped after a season or two.
So if you want to make sure that your TV series has a long run, you might want to work with a company that has all the know-how necessary for television production.
Figuring Out Your Demographic
First of all, you need to figure out your hook. What’s your angle? What demographic are you trying to appeal to? And why do you think that this particular show will appeal to that demographic?
Have you tried to pitch your idea to a sample audience? This might just consist of family and friends or you might try to rope in more people from that demographic. For example, if your show is meant to appeal to teenagers and you have a teenage daughter, why not ask her to get some of her friends together and get their opinion on what you’re trying to do?
This type of initial feedback can be invaluable. Don’t forget that Harry Potter only got published because the publisher’s daughter insisted that it was a great book.
Simplifying the Process
Once you have received positive feedback from your select audience, you need to make sure that you cover all your bases.
- Is your TV show well-written?
- Do you have a good cast?
- Do you have enough money to back the production?
- Have you secured a location (or locations)?
- Have you hired all the various people who are needed on the set?
Maybe you’ve already got a system down with regard to all these things. But if you don’t, then you can work with a company that will simplify the process for you.
